CityHeart received of one of six grants awarded by the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation in partnership with Advisor Group. Grants were available to nonprofits in need of funding for specific projects and programs. A CityHeart Board Member applied for the grant to support CityHeart’s Program Services for clients impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Invest in Others Charitable Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting and empowering financial professionals who give back to their communities with overwhelming generosity. Since its founding in 2006, Invest in Others has amplified these efforts by providing a platform for financial advisors and other financial professionals to increase awareness, visibility, and funding to their favorite nonprofits. We are grateful to our Board Member for their leadership and their work that brought this opportunity for CityHeart to invest in others!
The impact of COVID-19 has disproportionately affected many people in our target population; low-income, working families who have been sick with Covid-19, lost jobs, been laid off, or have experienced reduced work hours due to the pandemic. They regularly live from paycheck to paycheck with little or no personal safety net and are now under threat of utility disconnections and rental evictions. CityHeart plans to use the funds from the Invest in Others grant to stabilize these households and help keep families from falling into poverty or becoming homeless when facing temporary crisis.
